Academic Mentors

35 hours per week, term time only 

£19,000 pa, pro rata as well as having access to the school’s own benefits package

Commencing on 4 January 2022 until 31 August 2022

We’re looking for inspirational, driven and caring people to help disadvantaged children catch up on lost learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is an ideal opportunity for university graduates, pre-PGCE, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT’s) or qualified teachers to join us as part of the government-backed National Tutoring Programme (NPT).

As an Academic Mentor you will be employed on a fixed term contract to deliver a tailored programme of support, unique for each school. You will build children’s confidence and provide targeted support, whilst developing your own skills and experience in a school to support your future career.

This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact by delivering quality tuition and revision sessions working both 1:1 and in small groups for reading, writing and maths. 

You will be expected to:

  • identify learning gaps and help to shape a bespoke intervention programme for pupils
  • deliver engaging sessions, to support a range of learning styles with clear end-points
  • manage behaviour of pupils
  • differentiate sessions in line with pupils ability, taking into account any barriers to learning or additional needs
  • derive measurable outcomes from each sessions to track progress. 

Minimum qualifications for this role are either Qualified Teacher Status or Graduate with 2:2 or higher (or UK equivalent) and must have Level 4 (Grade C) or above in GCSE maths and English or equivalent. 

You will benefit from an NTP custom program of online training via Liverpool Hope University. This will be one week of training for qualified teachers and two weeks for graduates. You will also benefit from being part of Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN), an inclusive multi-academy trust dedicated to providing an extraordinary education to all our children. As an Academic Mentor, you really can and will make a difference within ELAN.

 SMSA - Lunch Time Supervisor

We are looking for friendly, reliable individuals to join our team of Lunchtime Supervisors at Walliscote Primary School.

The position is offered for 7 hours and 30 minutes a week, Monday to Friday and will be term time only.

Actual Pay E1C £3,141 approx. per annum.

You will be required to work as part of a team to ensure pupils have a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment during lunch times. Full training and support will be given. Please see job description for full details.
