Y45 Multi-Skills Event June 2019

Nine children took part in an event held at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre organised by the NSSPEA. It was brilliantly set out with 12 activities for children of all abilities, with participation a key element.

All of the children tried their best and showed true spirit when competing in each activity. Each trial had maximum score of 100 and they manage to score an outstanding 650 points in total! Well done!

Both Mrs Austin and I we so proud of the way the children conducted themselves. They will be presented with their medals in Wednesday's KS2 assembly.

Monday 20th May: eight children were invited to compete in multi-skill star event set to challenge their multi-skill abilities. All the children had a wonderful time and really tried their best. Fourteen schools in total entered in the morning session and when the results were announced, Walliscote had earned a 2nd position place!

Position aside, the children showed great desire to do their very best, worked well as a team and supported each other throughout. It was a delight for Mrs Jones and I to watch as they pushed themselves to the limit.

They took part in several activities including: Netball shooting, badminton serving, sprinting, bean bag throwing, target throwing and more.

We look forward to the next event

They swam with 7 other schools and thoroughly enjoyed their splash time! Mrs Anderson was extremely impressed and proud of how the swimmers performed, especially with all the other experienced swimmers that were involved. All of the children tried their best and were rewarded with loud cheers and a round of applause for their efforts.

Y5/6 Indoor Athletics January 2019

Eighteen children were invited to represent Walliscote at a Year 5 Indoor Athletics Tournament at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre. The 9 boys and 9 girls who participated worked tirelessly, learning new skills and observing how each event worked.

Each child had the chance to compete in 4 activities, two track and two field events. The events included Relay races, obstacle races, long distance and a mini hurdles event all of which were positioned along the length of the sports hall. The field events were; javelin, chest throw, standing long jump, vertical jump, standing triple jump and speed bouncing. All of the children tried so hard and were noted by the judges for their effort, praise and support for one another, no matter if we were first or last.

As the supporting adults, Mrs Chamberlain and I were so proud of how they conducted themselves and look forward to taking them to future events.

4/5/6 Swimming Gala December 2018

Our swimmers took part in the annual NSSPEA Swimming Gala at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre. The children were very nervous as they hadn't taken part in a swimming gala before. They were amazed when they saw how many other schools were taking part and how many people were there.

Every swimmer did amazingly and tried their hardest against the other children, some of whom swim for a club. They demonstrated great determination and resilience, never giving up. Mrs Chambelain and I were very proud.

Well done Team Walliscote
