Activity Passport
At Walliscote Primary School we believe that every child should have the opportunity to be extraordinary and future ready through a curriculum which is knowledge rich, bold and courageous.
Our curriculum aims to provide children with an education that is broad and balanced building on the knowledge, understanding and skills of all children, whatever their starting points, as they progress through each Key Stage.
To support and enhance this further, we are sending home an activity passport with each child. The passport includes a list of twenty entertaining and exciting experiences and most can be easily completed with just a little bit of your input at home. The activities include baking cakes, going somewhere on a train, playing a board game to making a daisy chain. All we ask is that every time you complete something on the list that you sign and date the activity.
The ideas are very similar to the list that the National Trust have for children to experience (50 Things to do before you’re 11 ¾ ) and comes from the DfE (Department for Education) as it encourages not only the academic progress of children but also those experiences that provide excitement, enjoyment and fulfilment. Such as, reading for pleasure, being excited by music and drama and widening your child’s experiences.
You can share your photos of your completed activities by adding them to your Seesaw or Tapestry accounts. If you have given us permission, we can share them on our social media and school website.
We hope you will enjoy working through this list with your child and that you both have fun together or as a family. Please do keep ticking off the activities throughout the year. You can see the complete list of activities on the school website as well as further information regarding the activity passports.
At the end of the school year, the children who have completed and documented all 20 activities will receive a book token worth £10.
